I keep looking for more photo gems from our youth… but I’m not seeing as many as i would like on my phone or on Facebook!! I mean, I think I’m grateful we did undergrad during that elusive time period where MySpace was dying and Facebook still required an .edu email address… oh and that phones couldn’t take pictures yet. LOL…
So I’ll just go with this one:
That’s my wedding to Joel… In the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 where K came ALONE (work related- we don’t hold it against Mr. K) with her itty bitty dude… I can’t remember exactly but I know he wasn’t even 4 or 5 yet and A brought her hubs and a 2 year old? 3? Maybe? I’m horrible with ages but they flew miles and miles to a whole separate country with kids, in that time of the “Zika Virus” that kept many of my own family members from attending- and with good reason, just to stand right there beside me as my matrons of honor.
I can’t imagine flying to another country without my hubs with one of my children let alone both of them! And even with the hubs I’d still have a ton of anxiety… they really won massive best friend points that week.
Ok Katie, it’s time to focus, the reason for the blog, outfits… Moms’ Weekend Away.
Let’s get to business- we’ve narrowed down options to Nashville, New Orleans (but we wouldn’t do the crazy partying we’d be too busy hitting all the good restaurants) or a cabin somewhere in the woods with a hot tub and a quaint town to explore (location still tbd).
Once we’ve arrived and settled in, maybe had a day of rest in those phenomenal pjs we went over last time, we’ll be ready to explore a little. Be it Nashville sights and sounds, New Orleans history or our quaint town. What would everyone wear? I’ve got a pretty solid idea…
A’s explorer look is easy she’ll be in shorts but need a long sleeve shirt. The shorts will be a bit more on the dressy side than the casual size and she’ll need that long sleeve shirt because the girl is never hot. Like ever. Out in the sun all day? Oh nope not with her porcelain skin, she’ll have a hat and some sunnies. She’ll have a good handbag too… something big enough to hold what she needs, a small first aid kit and possibly my wallet and phone too…

As for me? Well... since I'll be kid free the likelihood of me putting on makeup is much higher. I'm a hippie at heart. My clothes are always going to hold just a slight edge of Hippie/Soul/Rock flavor while still appropriate for my "mom era"!
I'm obsessed with a good kimono/duster and shorts combo so this outfit is just perfect for me. If i get my act together I might bring a bag, but it's more likely I've put my wallet in someone else's bag and my phone in my back pocket! LOL
