Workin 9-5...well really more like 7:30-4 for teachers...

It's fall.  New School Year is Starting soon (YIKES) and it's time to grab a few classic items to use throughout the year at work and at home.  The Problem? It's still hotter than Georgia asphalt outside...

So let's chat transitional pieces- Pieces we can wear in the summer and carry forward with us in the fall.  Let's add one more piece to this puzzle and make sure what we're looking at makes teaching or working in an office easy too! I won't use the words "teaching appropriate" or "work appropriate" because I think adults can easily decide what works for them as "appropriate" and often times in the late spring, shorts are the only way we survive the classroom. I'm a musician and I teach at a private school for pk3-5th grade music.  So I'm always looking at clothes to make my job easier.    I'm talking more about clothing that make it easier to teach- for me that's maxi dresses so I don't have to worry about sitting on the floor with the kids and getting back up. It's pants and light shirts so I can dance and sing with the kiddos.  It's jumpsuits because some mornings I'm lucky my shoes match let alone a full outfit and jumpsuits make it a ton easier!!  It's kimonos because they make sleeveless items a little less exposed and it's super fun to wave them around while dancing with scarves.

The Maxi Dress

It's No surprise that I'm obsessed with Maxi Dresses... OBSESSED.  All of these examples are pretty easy for me to wear at school and I can always add a kimono, my hooded jean vest or a sweater.  No, never mind.  Hell would have to freeze over for me to put anything long sleeved on until at least December... and even then it'll be a hard for me!!  These maxi dresses are a great length, great price, and so easy to wear.  No decisions have to be made in the morning - just throw on a dress and a pair of shoes and you're ready to go.  (and if you are a mom, you know that fast is pretty much the only way we get ready in the mornings...)

Basic Black -

I'm always a fan of basic black it's that musician in me- concert black is vital!  The one pictured above is actually marked as Plus Size only and is available in 1x-3x.  Now, be aware these are not short.  How do I wear them being as short as I am???  I tie a knot.  It's that simple!  (Pictures are hyperlinked)

This Fabulous Dress is $35

Or there's this one for $33 and is available from size small through 3xl.

Need a Pop of color?  Check out this bright Pink one ($54)

Throw on a vest or kimono with this dress and it's ready to go for class in no time flat! ($48) - I personally Love this one with my jean vest because while the dress doesn't have pockets, my vest does!

Next week, I'll share some great jumpsuits that will work well for teaching in/working in!  Until then, use code TEACH for $10 off your purchase and freeship for free shipping on orders over $25.
